GEA Process Technologies Ireland Ltd currently uses AutoCAD 2012 to produce P&IDs and general arrangements in 2D and 3D. We have recently purchased AutoCAD P&ID and AutoCAD Electrical packages and these are currently in development. These new tools will be integrated into the company over the next year. The new packages will be specifically designed and customised to suit our standards and the industries we serve.
The new software will allow the CAD/Design group to quickly and accurately produce P&ID’s containing all the information required to produce equipment, valve and instrument lists easily and quickly.
The new 3D plant software will allow us to firstly supply a visual environment in which the client can easily see and understand how the plant will function and what problems there may be in congested areas for example. The model will also produce isometrics and bills of materials and allow the designer to concentrate on a single model and not several separate drawing again streamlining the design phase of a project.
